Salehoo, the popular wholesale directory, continues to be among the hottest drop ship sources on the internet. When I first started working online, I bought Salehoo to perform a Salehoo review to see what all the fuss was about. Although it was very early in my internet marketing career, I learned a lot from my experience with Salehoo.
So, can the average person really make a lot of money using Salehoo?
The short answer to that question is yes, but there are a few things that you should know before you put down your hard-earned cash.
When I first started to review Salehoo, I was very new to the drop shipping arena. Therefore, there was a bit of a learning curve, as is true with any promising venture. With Salehoo, I was able to find everything I wanted below retail cost - MP3 Players, TVs, iPods, Clothing, and accessories - however, I was able to find comparable prices for the same goods on eBay. Therefore, it takes a little bit of research to find products that sell enough below eBay cost to make a profit. This can be frustrating until you realize that research is necessary in all profitable adventures, and drop shipping with Salehoo is no different.
While doing my Salehoo review, I noticed that they bragged high profit margins on their front page. However, it wasn't always possible for me to make the same amount. There is an interesting reason why...
I found that Salehoo's best deals can be found when a product is just released. For example, when the XBox 360 was released, they could be purchased through Salehoo at a great discount. At this time, selling XBox 360s was very profitable. However, after the initial buzz wore off, the price came down, and there was a much smaller margin of profit. Most people make the mistake of trying to continue selling the same item even after the price comes down, and they miss out. Therefore, if you get into the game EARLY, Salehoo can be profitable.
Salehoo is also very, very good for selling product accessories. If we take the XBox example again, selling controllers and games continues to be profitable. Most people get stuck "in the box" and only think about selling the console. If you can think outside the box enough to sell smaller items and accessories, Salehoo is perfect. (Think of it as selling shovels to the gold miners!)
One thing that I continue to like about Salehoo is that I use it to buy items for myself, as well. The last item that I purchased was a set of 400 watt speakers for my dorm room. When I turn them up half way, people I don't even know come into my room and say, "That sounds incredible." I got them for a great price, too.
What surprised me most during my Salehoo review...
While performing my Salehoo review, the thing that best caught my attention was the customer service. When starting out with them, I had plans to drop ship iPods. (I now know that this wasn't the best thing to start with.) I was having trouble finding a good profit margin, so I wrote Salehoo's customer support a note saying that I was having a hard time. They then compiled a human made list of suppliers that would provide what I was looking for. Now THAT'S service! They bent over backwards to ensure my success, and I was extremely surprised by their willingness to help me.
Apart from excellent customer service, Salehoo has a user forum that has tens of thousands of members who have used Salehoo and are there to help you out. When you have a question, or when you're learning the ropes, the forum can be your best friend. I have learned an enormous amount from these types of internet communities.
Price of Goods
Because Salehoo connects its users directly with the suppliers, members are able to start drop shipping right away. Furthermore, it allows users to directly see the marketplace of each supplier and find the best deals, which allows the average drop shipper like you and me to make more money. The prices of goods are great, especially if you are able to find a good internet niche. If you do some research and find some products that tailor to a specific group of people, one can make a lot of money with Salehoo.
A little tip...
This is a cool tip, and it's kept pretty quiet because no people think to exploit it: many of the suppliers that Salehoo connects you to have affiliate programs. This means that you can get commissions for anything that you buy from them. Therefore, you get wholesale prices and a nice additional discount! Not many people know about it, but I noticed it during my Salehoo review. Keep that little tip to yourself.
The Bottom Line...
Salehoo is excellent for those who want to learn how to drop ship and need suppliers to do so. Beware that there is a bit of a learning curve, and those who have been unhappy with the service are those who just don't take the time to learn how everything works. What's the best feature of Salehoo?
There are three things that I really like about Salehoo. The first is how affordable it is. For $67, you have lifetime access to Salehoo. It is one of the least expensive services of its kind, and there are no monthly fees.
Second, Salehoo connects you directly with the suppliers' website. You can instantly browse the marketplace and start selling products. It's very easy to get started.
Finally, Salehoo's customer support is awesome. They really went out of their way to help me. Furthermore, there is a forum of Salehoo users that help each other to be successful. In my experience, these forums have been invaluable learning tools.
Where does Salehoo lack?
If you're new to drop shipping, Salehoo's learning curve can be a little difficult. They didn't have the educational resources to help people learn the ins and outs of the industry. However, the forum can help you overcome any inexperience that you might have.
Also, if you end up becoming a full-time drop shipper, you may find that you will need to expand your horizons outside of Salehoo. While my Salehoo review has led me to believe that it is a good starting point and resource to have in your arsenal, Salehoo is not going to be the comprehensive company that makes you a millionaire.

My Recommendation
My Salehoo review has led me to conclude that it is a great place to get started in drop shipping, find excellent prices, and find plenty of suppliers to help you make money almost immediately. If you are a beginner, I recommend Salehoo to help you understand the basics and have a great user forum to learn from experienced drop shippers. If you are an experienced wholesaler, I recommend Salehoo for the large list of suppliers to which they connect you and the variety of products that each has.
